She further explains how she wants the viewer to slow down and take a deeper look at the works she has created as well as taken the time to capture in detail. She also focuses on how black and white can also create emotions and provoke thought in the viewers experience. Joanne further explains that the interpretation of the works are up to the viewer and are more subjective than objective.
